LXIV

So it's been around three weeks since my last post and I'm sorry I haven't been updating lately. It's just that it's report card week and we're alll trying to make up for what we're missing in our classes and whatnot. PLUS planning for my birthday party has just been such a drag.

I said I would post about my trip to Mexico and here goes! I will start by posting links to alllll the photos that I took:

I set my albums so that they would be viewable by the public. =) Anyway, here's the run-down, day by day.

March 14th, 2010

At around 12:00AM, I'm just chilling at home, waiting for 1:00AM to come so we can leave xD Flight is at 6:30AM or something like that and we had to be at the airport by 3-3:30AM. So yeah, get there. First person there was Carvy. I was next then people started trickling in. We were all either really sleepy or really hyped. Fun stuff. Checked in, looong line-up since there was 21 of us. Then the next thing you know, you're on the plane O_O Time passes by really quickly in airports. So we get on and we fly to Tacoma, Seattle airport. Didn't sleep in that one at all since it was only a 1hour flight. Just to let you know... NEVER FLY ALASKA AIRLINES. SUCH BAD LANDING SKILLS >:( Okay anyway, we were at the Seattle airport for about 2hours or so. My best friend, Maria, and I decide to eat breakfast and where else better than at Chili's! It wasn't the real deal though. It was called "Chili's too". Like, wtf <_<; In any case, we had big breakfasts. I should have a picture somewhere in there =p And theeeeeen, another airplane ride going to Phoenix. Slept in that one. Couldn't take it anymore @_@ I was sleeping soo soundly but then the landing was SO crappy that it woke me up and made me jump in my seat. Literally =_= And theeen, after getting our luggage and stuff sorted out, we went on the bus for a 12hr bus ride to Tesopaco, Mexico! It wasn't super hot in Phoenix. It was bearable heat. But then again, I was only outside for a maybe 30minutes or so. Stop over at some fast food places for lunch/dinner. Obviously, I was still on the hunt for churros at this time so I was searching but found none. However, Maria and I found out that you can get 1 large meal and a sandwich at Burger King for $12. And by large, I mean LARGE. The drinks were HUUUGE and the sandwiches were even huger. @_@ Anyway, so we were on the bus for 11-13 hours. The Mexican border was so ghetto. Nothing special at all. It's like...I don't know how to describe it. I should have a picture in there. Anyway, going into Mexico itself was like going back to the Philippines' ghetto area. It wasn't that surprising for me psh. And yeah. 11-13 hours. When it was dark, the bus driver turned off the lights, left little blue night lights on and he seemed to have turned up the AC =_= It was SOO cold D: but my feet were sweating all at the same time. Strange eh. People were starting to say that the bus driver turned in on for fun LOL. At times when people couldn't sleep, we pulled out the gee-tar and jammed. Sang and had some fun =) Got to Tesopaco at around 2:30AM. Set up our sleeping quarters and slept =)

March 15th, 2010

Due to the cold of the bus, I got a wee bit sick. Woke up at 8AM for breakfast and I was doing worship that day so I just re-used my sermon about food and serving God. Breakfast was pancakes, fruit and some kinda porridge. I don't like porridge so def didn't touch that. Pancakes was okay. After breakfast, we separated into construction and Vacation Bible School groups. I was in VBS so we went into a room to prep for that. I couldn't handle it though cause I was too sick. My eyes were glossy and I was still really sleepy so the teachers told me to sleep. So I slept and slept, then woke up, helped out with VBS, then it was lunch! I forgot what it was but it was really good :D After that, more VBS prep and then off to a little town called "La Estrella" for VBS for the kids there. I was in charge of crafts. Totes def not fun. It was hard communicating with the kids due to the language barrier but most of them understood. We didn't really get to finish it the way it's supposed to look but it's okay. I tried out some basic Spanish words that I knew on the bus ride there on one of the teachers of the school that we were staying at. I was asking her age and said "Tos numeros?" Which means "Your number?" LOL. Then I had to ask my classmate Yaya how to ask for someone's age and she told me "Tos anos?" And yeah. Good stuff. I kept asking Sergio, the son of the principal who owned the school we were staying at, how to say lots of things in Spanish. Fun times. Then we went back, had dinner which was awesome as well :D Worship, then we switched people for VBS. Showered, Maria and I showered together ;D, got clean and talked to my mom and big brother on Skype. While the principal was in the room, my brother asked if I could bring back a bottle of tequila. Talk about awk. Anyway, bed time!

Holy crap, there's so much to write. MORE TO COME TMRW. I'm hoping to do two days per post per day x) Yeah. =)

In other news...

PLAYOFFS ARE STARTING!!!

In NBA 2010, I'm obviously rooting for LA Lakers but Denver Nuggets will be in my hearts. Yay Carmelo Anthony (leading scorer I believe) and Chauncey "Mr. Big Shot" Billups. I read a bio on Billups and that began my interest in him. He's called Mr. Big Shot cause he takes those impossible-seeming shots that not many would dare to take and he gets it in. Something like that. =P

LA Lakers are against Oklahoma Thunder and they're currently at a 2-1 series with Lakers leading. Anyway, go Lakers! Haha x)

In NHL 2010, go Canucks! I'm not a big hockey enthusiast but as a Vancouverite, I must share the same faith and enthusiasm that other Vancouver Canucks fans share haha. Screw LA Kings for using "I believe" or "believe" in their cheering for their team. Vancouverites should have copyrighted that or something since I remember hearing that being used even way before the winter olympics. Yeah?

Series right now is...well, I don't know but I think they're tied. o: Good luck Canucks!
